This position is full-time and works approximately 40 hours per week.

Essential Functions


Position assists with the technical aspects of studies and experiments including documentation and preparation of materials.


  1. Assists with research studies, experiments and assays including collection of data, preparation of solutions and set-up and maintenance of equipment.
  2. Performs data entry and maintains data files on research.
  3. Performs DNA extraction, PCR, and agarose gel electrophoresis.
  4. Performs tissue culture work as required.
  5. Ensures completion of tissue prep and histology.
  6. Coordinates plasmid prep and inventories.
  7. Complies with established safety procedures and maintains required documentation on laboratory and specimen conditions.
  8. Ensures lab conditions and equipment are properly cleaned and maintained in accordance with established procedures.
  9. Assists with general lab maintenance and cleaning.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and up to 1 year of experience in a laboratory setting or equivalent combination of education and experience equaling 4 years required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Willingness to handle and work extensively with mice.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain complete and organized records/reports.
  • Ability to manage time and tasks appropriately, strong organizational skills and interest in learning new techniques.
  • Good communication skills and basic computer knowledge.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and communicate with laboratory staff and investigators.
  • Working knowledge of computer software and general lab equipment.

Salary Range

The hiring range for this position is $14.07 - $18.99 per hour.
