Job Type/Schedule This position is full-time and works approximately 40 hours per week. Department Name/Job Location This position is in the Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Rheumatology. This position is for the Medical School Campus. Essential Functions POSITION SUMMARY: This position includes assisting investigators with the technical aspects of mouse husbandry, documentation, and experiments related to molecular biology. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Assists investigator with the preparation of solutions, research studies, and experiments which includes performing sterile cell culture techniques, PCR, restriction digest, plasmid purification, gel electrophoresis, and maintaining a detailed lab notebook containing research data. 2. Assists investigator in maintaining mouse colony, including breeding, weaning, genotyping and record keeping. 3. Assists with general lab maintenance and cleaning. Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent high school certification. Preferred Qualifications * College degree. * Demonstrated ability to maintain complete and organized records/reports. * Working knowledge of computer software. Salary Range The hiring range for this position is $13.80 - $15.97 per hour.
