Job Type/Schedule This position is full-time and works approximately 40 hours per week. Department Name/Job Location This position is in the Washington University Pain Center and the Basic Research Division of the Department of Anesthesiology, located on the Medical School Campus. Essential Functions POSITION SUMMARY: Our group is interested in understanding cellular and circuit mechanisms underlying chronic pain. This position is an excellent opportunity for an interested applicant in obtaining training in state-of-the-art experimental techniques and broad scientific tools applied in molecular and systems neuroscience. This position is responsible for assisting with laboratory duties in a research setting; performs routine tests with direction from the supervisor, manager or higher-level technician. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Assists the investigator or higher-level technician with research studies, experiments and assays, including collection of data, preparation of solutions and set-up and maintenance of equipment. 2. Maintains files on research and assists with data entry. 3. Assists with general lab maintenance and cleaning. 4. Assists with managing the animal colony. Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent high school certification. Preferred Qualifications * Experience with molecular biology, AAV’s. * Experience with microscopy and mouse genotyping. * Experience with coding in Python, MATLAB is a plus. Salary Range The hiring range for this position is $13.80 - $15.97 per hour.
