Job Type/Schedule This opportunity is full-time and works approximately 40 hours per week. Department Name/Job Location This opportunity is in the Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Endocrinology, Metabolism and Lipid Research, located at the Medical School Campus. Essential Functions There is a research opportunity for an enthusiastic candidate with experience in molecular biology, biochemistry, immunology, or related fields. The research program studies crosstalk between metabolism and immune cell activation and its involvement in pathophysiological processes. The laboratory uses classical molecular biology and biochemistry techniques in combination with systems approaches. Required Qualifications Candidates with at least a bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline and prior experience in relevant laboratory techniques are encouraged to apply. Preferred Qualifications * Excellent basic lab skills, including aseptic techniques, making complex buffers and media, and precise pipetting. * Experience with mammalian cell culture work. * Experience with molecular biology and biochemistry techniques, including isolation of DNA and RNA from various biological specimens, PCR, gel electrophoresis, and western blotting. * Prior experience with basic immunology techniques, including immune cell isolation from tissues, flow cytometry, and performing ELISA would be plus. * Ability to handle and monitor mice, maintaining mouse colonies. * Ability to work independently and in collaboration. * Ability to maintain complete and organized records. * Working knowledge of computer software and general lab equipment. Salary Range Base pay commensurate with experience.
