This opportunity is in the Washington University Pain Center and the Basic Research Division of the Department of Anesthesiology, located on the Medical School Campus.
A position is available in the Washington University Pain Center and the Basic Research Division of Department of Anesthesiology. Dr. Yu-Qing Cao’s group is looking for highly motivated candidates to join our efforts in translational research on new therapies for chronic migraine and other chronic headache disorders. Ongoing projects focus on studying how changes of ion channel activities and neuro-immune interactions contribute to migraine chronification. We employ multidisciplinary approaches including electrophysiology, time-lapse imaging, anatomical tracing, single neuron profiling, mouse genetics and behavioral assessment of pain. Work in the lab includes, but is not limited to: 1) conducting behavioral assays in various mouse models of chronic headache, administrating drugs, and collecting blood/tissue samples; 2) helping with mouse breeding and colony maintenance; 2) helping with lab ordering, organization and inspections.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher.
- Prior wet lab experience.
- Prior experience in mouse behavioral assays will be highly appreciated.
- Basic troubleshooting skills and an ability to maintain complete and organized records.
- Working knowledge of computer software and general lab equipment.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Base pay commensurate with experience.
