This position is in the Department of Surgery. This position is for the Medical School Campus.
A funded position for a postdoctoral fellow is available in the Thoracic Immunobiology Laboratory at Washington University in St. Louis. Our laboratory studies transplantation immunology in mouse models. Our laboratory has developed several microsurgical techniques and intravital imaging platforms that have advanced research in transplantation. Our laboratory is federally funded and is highly productive. We have identified immune mechanisms that contribute to inflammation and tolerance after lung and heart transplantation. Our findings have been published in peer-reviewed journals, such as The Journal of Clinical Investigation, The American Journal of Transplantation, JCI Insight, Blood, and The Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.

- Recent Ph.D. degree.
- Strong background in immunology and at least one experimental paper in a peer-reviewed journal.
- Familiarity with cellular and molecular immunological techniques, in particular flow cytometry, primary cell isolation and in vitro cell culture.
- Ability to be self-motivated.
- Ability to contribute intellectually to research projects.
- Ability to work independently, as well as a member of a research team.
Experience in bulk and single-cell gene expression profiles.
Base pay commensurate with experience.
