Washington University of St. Louis Postdoctoral Research Associate - Chemistry - 39823 in St. Louis, Missouri

Job Type/Schedule

This position is full-time and works approximately 37.5 hours per week.

Essential Functions

The Patti group in the Department of Chemistry at Washington University in St. Louis is seeking a post-doctoral research assistant for a 2-3 year position, or until the project is completed. Our group applies mass spectrometry-based metabolomics to understand physiological regulation in diseases such as cancer as well as metabolic responses to drugs/toxicants. In addition to their independent research project(s), the post-doctoral research associate will be expected to aid in the mentoring of undergraduate and graduate students.

Required Qualifications

A Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Biology, or a related field is required for this position.

Preferred Qualifications

Research expertise in one or more of the following areas is highly desirable for this position:

  1. Computer programming (R, Python, etc.)
  2. Liquid chromatography/mass spectrometry-based metabolomics
  3. Metabolism/physiology
  4. Basic molecular biology techniques
  5. Mice, zebrafish, and/or worms

Salary Range

The hiring range for this position is commensurate with experience.
