Job Type/Schedule

This position is full-time and works approximately 40 hours per week. Hours will vary, with expectation that some days will start and end later than others (ie: 10:00AM – 6:00 PM).

Essential Functions


The MR East Building and Center for Clinical Imaging Research (CCIR) Facilities at the Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology, Washington University are looking for an energetic and research-interested technologist with both MRI and nuclear medicine experience and certification to assist with MR coverage in both areas and PET imaging in the CCIR.


  1. The position would require the performance of team multimodality research for multiple complex research studies involving novel radiopharmaceuticals and first-in-human imaging.
  2. Responsibilities would include scan coordination, radiopharmaceutical injection, processing and archival of imaging data, maintenance of imaging records, and data transfer to various computer platforms and software programs.
  3. The individual in all aspects would be responsible for adherence to HIPPA regulations.
  4. The facility maintains a simultaneous PET-MRI system, a PET-CT system, two state-of-the art MRI scanners and a small metabolite laboratory.
  5. The most desired candidate would have experience that would allow operation of all systems.
  6. Currently we perform 197 research protocols for 90 principal investigators throughout Washington University and other academic institutions in Missouri.
  7. The facility interfaces with the Washington University Cyclotron Facility.

Required Qualifications

  • Equivalent of Bachelors degree in science or related field; Certified with American Registry of Radiological Technologist (ARRTN) or equivalent (CNMT).
  • 3 years relevant experience as a staff technologist; one year management experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of computers, medical imaging devices, i.e. PET imaging software and devices, knowledge of WU FIS system or equivalent combination of training and experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT), RT (MR).
  • Ability to demonstrate analytical reasoning and perform complex mathematical computations and think logically.
