averhealth Lab Specimen Accessioner in St. Louis, Missouri

Since 1995, Averhealth has specialized in providing substance use monitoring services tailored to the unique needs of courts and social service agencies that operate at the holistic intersection of healthcare and criminal justice. Today, Averhealth serves more than 1,800 courts and social service agencies across 30 states, integrating all substance use monitoring activities.

PAY: $13/HR with Full Benefits + Uniform Allowance (post-training)

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Prepares specimen (urine) for analysis by receiving, opening, and pipetting in accordance with our standard operation procedures

  • Prepares excess specimen samples for storage

  • Enters sample information into the software database

  • Prepares picklists and assemble urine and OF samples for confirmation testing

  • Disposes of samples after the analysis is complete

  • Sends supplies to Averhealth sites as needed

  • Maintains cleanliness of accessioning work areas

  • Perform other work as required

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Outstanding attention to detail

  • Ability to perform routine tasks with no errors

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume setting

  • Ability to manage time effectively

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing

  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds

  • Ability to pass a color blind test

  • Skill in the use of computers, especially applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience required

  • Accredited 2-year college degree or certificate highly desirable

  • Previous experience accessioning samples

  • Previous experience in a lab setting

  • Experience in a position requiring completion of a routine task is highly desirable
