Job Type/Schedule This position is full-time and works approximately 40 hours per week. Department Name/Job Location This position is for the Faculty Practice Plan. This position is for the Medical School Campus. Essential Functions POSITION SUMMARY: The Director will serve as executive lead for development, planning and design of the new Siteman Cancer Center (SCC) ambulatory facility on the medical center campus. Director will be responsible for ensuring that the new facility will be designed to allow for an optimal patient experience, incorporating innovative care models, providing high quality of care, and maximizing efficiency of clinical workflow. Director will work with Washington University School of Medicine (WUSM) and Barnes-Jewish Hospital (BJH) leadership to ensure coordination across entities and achievement of mutual goals. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Serves as executive lead for development, planning and design of new SCC ambulatory facility. Provides executive updates, keeps leadership apprised of timelines, cost, barriers, overall project status, etc. 2. Coordinates facility planning with consultants, key stakeholders and leadership across institutions. Works closely with facilities project management team to oversee project management: ensures user groups are represented, timelines are met, meetings are efficient, deliverables are on schedule, etc. Facilitates necessary project approvals in coordination with capital projects, finance and planning teams. 3. Incorporates innovative approaches and technologies into facility design. Encourages new technology and ideas for enhancing service level, efficiency and patient care. Brings together experts to implement new technology as part of facility design. 4. Develops new care model for delivering multidisciplinary care across cancer subspecialties. Gathers input from relevant stakeholders. Leads team in documenting new workflows and processes required to operationalize multidisciplinary team approach. Incorporates new care model into facility design. 5. Ensures readiness for facility activation and opening according to budget and timeline. Assists with project approval process, engages operational leads and recommends operational activation structure. Required Qualifications * Master’s degree in a healthcare-related field or business administration. * Minimum of five years of experience in management of ambulatory clinic operations. * Experience working in a large, complex, matrixed healthcare organization. Preferred Qualifications * Five to ten years of relevant work experience in cancer services. * Experience in facility start-up and design. * RN licensure with clinical oncology experience. * Work experience in an academic medical center. * Strong communication, collaboration, leadership and management skills. * Team building experience. * Comfort interacting with and publicly presenting to a broad array of administrative and clinical staff, including senior management. * Superior organizational and interpersonal skills. * Confidence and comfort in working in a largely matrixed role with multiple stakeholders. Salary Range Base pay commensurate with experience.
