Job Type/Schedule Position works on an as needed basis. Department Name/Job Location This position is in the Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Endocrinology, Metabolism, and Lipid Research. This position is for the Medical School Campus. Essential Functions POSITION SUMMARY: Performs a variety of research, database and clerical duties of a routine and technical nature in support of clinical research to ensure adherence to protocols and quality of information received. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Sorts, copies and files records. 2. Contacts subjects for the database and for various clinical trials. 3. Screens referrals and assists in the recruitment of all appropriate patients. 4. Assists staff with subject study visits, set up lab kits, mailing labels & boxes, and visit forms. 5. Provides photocopy and fax services, sorts and distributes mail. 6. Maintains, logs, and stores study supplies and maintains temperature logs. 7. Maintains file system and performs computer entry to update study files and data. 8. Schedules patients for exams and tests in accordance with study protocol. Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent high school certification plus one year of customer service experience, preferably in medical environment; some college may substitute for experience. Preferred Qualifications * Interest in clinical research and/or technical problem solving. * Courteous interpersonal skills and professional telephone skills for effective interactions with internal and external individuals at all times. * Ability to multitask and exceptional organizational and prioritization skills are essential. * Ability to handle competing priorities and to analyze and condense confidential information. * Ability to type and use various word processing & database software. * Working knowledge of general office equipment. * Ability to work independently and collaboratively with investigator and study staff. * Efficient problem solving skills. * Strong verbal communication skills. Salary Range The hiring range for this position is $15.85 - $19.43 per hour.
