Monsanto Biomedical Engineer Intern in ST. LOUIS, Missouri

The Molecular Cell Sciences Team is seeking a Biomedical Engineer Intern. This position will be located in Chesterfield, Missouri, reporting to our Biological Imaging Lead.

This internship will work closely with highly trained research scientists and engineers to bring creative thinking and apply his/her knowledge in assisting system improvement of biological workflow for better efficiency and ergo friendliness.

Dates for this internship are May 13-August 2 of 2019.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing input on new technologies and creative ideas for system improvement.

  • Contributing to the design, testing, optimization and implementation of the tools and apparatus at different scales for diverse biological workflows including manual and automated imaging systems.

  • Working and communicating closely with the team for progress and results.

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Current enrollment at a university within the U.S., pursuing a B.S., M.S or Ph.D degree in Biomedical Engineering

  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale

  • Eligible candidates must be returning to school to continue program of study following completion of summer internship

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to work independently and collaboratively

  • Class credit on Biology or related fields

  • Experience in biological science research team project or working in biological research labs highly desired
