This role includes designing, developing and performing various optical measurements including: tests of aircraft displays and lighting; optical properties of materials; infrared thermography; sensor laser protection. Works in a team environment, with opportunities to lead and develop tests with support of the team lead and senior engineers. This position rolls up to the BT&E Electromagnetics test capability with opportunities to also support labs specializing in Radar Cross Section testing, EMI/EMC testing, Antenna Pattern testing locally in St. Louis as well as across the enterprise.

Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Experience with Electro Optical (ex: producing specifications, tolerances, simulations, assembly, integration and test of fiber optic (F/O) sensors, systems and components, including sensors, lasers, fiber-optics, and telecommunications products)
Typical Education/Experience: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
