This position is full-time and works approximately 40 hours per week.

This position is in the Department of Anesthesiology Clinical Pain Research. This position is for the Medical School Campus.
A postdoctoral position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Simon Haroutounian at the Washington University Pain Center and the Department of Anesthesiology. The successful candidate will become part of a large multidisciplinary neuroscience community. This position is focused on developing and utilizing novel clinical trial methodology in pain, where by implementing psychophysics, cognitive neuroscience, pharmacokinetics and pharmacogenetics we aim for developing personalized approaches for the prevention and treatment of neuropathic pain.
A successful candidate should have a PhD in Neuroscience, Pharmacology, or a related field and/or clinical background (e.g. M.D., Pharm.D, Psy.D).
- Solid knowledge of pain processing and analgesic mechanisms.
- Solid biostatistics skills and hands-on experience with QST or experimental pain models is a plus.
- Creative thinking skills; excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to implement laboratory procedures, conduct research and records findings.
The hiring range for this position is commensurate with experience.
