Other duties may be assigned.less than/p>less thanul>less thanli>Prepares chemical solutions, student unknowns, and standardizes solutions accurately following Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to be used by instructors to grade students.less than/li>less thanli>Documents solutions and student unknowns for instructors.less than/li>less thanli>Develops and updates SOPs for the standardization and creation of solutions to accompany student lab procedures.less than/li>less thanli>Communicates information about the chemical and concentrations to all chemistry faculty as needed.less than/li>less thanli>Provides input on the creation of new labs with faculty to create procedures and guarantee proper chemical handling and waste procedures.less than/li>less thanli>Aids Science Lab Coordinator in the ordering of supplies and equipment for chemistry, physical science and physics labs. Maintain SCC credit card purchase records and receipts.less than/li>less thanli>Washes delicate glassware used by students, faculty, and technician including, volumetric pipets and burets.less than/li>less thanli>Organizes, prepares and cleans laboratory rooms for each lab section.less than/li>less thanli>Maintains stock and laboratory equipment, including pH meters, spectrophotometers and instrument gas.less than/li>less thanli>Opens and closes (lock) lab classroom door and maintains student equipment drawers.less than/li>less thanli>Assists instructors in lab activities, greenhouse, aquarium and exhibit care ensuring that any hazardous materials, biological and chemical, are disposed of according to federal and state guidelines.less than/li>less thanli>Maintains waste logs and ensures proper safety guidelines are communicated to faculty and students. Maintain and supply the Safety Data Sheets (SDS) to instructors, students and DPS.
