Tyson Foods Cobb - Poultry Farm Worker in Pineville, Missouri

Work Shift:

1ST SHIFT (United States of America)

Schedule: Monday through Friday

Hours: 6:00 am – 2:00 pm.

Work schedule is subject to change based upon production needs.

Summary:

  • This position is responsible for the sanitation and disinfection of poultry houses in all areas except FCR by performing all essential duties. Other duties may be assigned.

Essential Duties and Responsibilties:

  • Operates high pressure washer to remove debris from houses (70%)

  • Operates low pressure washer to apply disinfectant to houses (20%)

  • Must be willing to achieve and maintain a respirator certification: TMs must remain clean shaven during all scheduled work hours.

Other duties, responsibilities, and activities:

  • Other duties, responsibilities and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice. Such as: May perform other farm crew duties such as assist with live haul, housing, vaccinations, toe/beak trimming, operate dump truck and auger for litter removal from Cages areas, remove litter from other areas on the farm, replace new shavings in other areas on farm, sanitation in FCR, dispose of mortality and trash, maintain equipment by checking fluid levels, filters, tire pressure, and clean/disinfect to remove debris, and perform steps to control vegetation in the absence of other crew members. (10%)

Biosecurity/Animal Welfare Requirements:

  • The jobsite is a biosecure environment which requires showering, changing clothing and footwear before entering the facility. Appropriate clothing and footwear is provided by the Company. No jewelry may be worn on the jobsite except for medical ID jewelry and body piercings covered by appropriate clothing. Must be willing to sign an agreement to avoid any avian species (chickens, ducks, birds, etc.). Must be willing to sign and abide by the Company Biosecurity and Company Animal Welfare Guidelines.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Physical: Must use safe lifting techniques. Must regularly push/pull high pressure sprayer weighing up to 90 pounds and occasionally lift and stack shavings bundles (pallet jack) weighing up to 12 pounds, move mortality weighing up to 35 pounds, lift/carry gas-powered blower weighing 25 pounds, and lift/carry weedeater weighing 20 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand on a concrete floor; walk; sit; use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop; talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision; distance vision; color vision; peripheral vision; depth perception; and the ability to adjust focus.

  • Tools and Equipment: Requires use of hand tools such as shovels, scrapers, brooms, and wire cutters; power tools such as drill and large shop vac; and safe operation of vehicle to and from the work area.

  • Environment: Required to work on wet, slippery surfaces and also in hot, dry, dusty, wet and cold environments.

  • Personal Protective Equipment Required: Rubber/nitrile gloves, safety goggles and/or glasses, plastic apron, dust mask (if desired), hearing protection while mowing/weedeating, follow manufacturer recommendations for herbicides.

  • Chemicals Commonly Used: Disinfectants and vehicle fluids.

  • Safety: Team member is expected to follow all applicable safety policies and procedures. These include but are not limited to Hazard Communication, Respiratory Protection, LOTO and Personal Protective Equipment. Team member is expected to identify, address and mitigate safety related risks.
