Process engineer to develop and support welding operations
Performs and analyzes routine to moderately complex engineering functions, quality control functions designs, and specifications to achieve efficient, cost effective and reliable manufacturing or measuring processes, applying mathematical, physical science, and engineering technologies.
Follows established procedures in completing multiple technical assignments.
Develops new welds on upcoming production products and processes
Writes specification and work instructions
Supports existing products and processes
Coaches and mentors fellow team-members
Communicates and works directly with the customers to provide products that meet their needs
You Must Have:
US citizenship in order to obtain and maintain US Dept of Energy ""Q"" level security clearance
Two (2) or more years of applied experience in engineering roles in a technical or manufacturing environment
Bachelor of Science degree in Welding, Metallurgical, Materials Science, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering from ABET accredited program/university
Advanced degree in Welding, Metallurgical, Materials Science, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering from ABET accredited program/university.
Relevant experience performing metal joining engineering or similar chem-met processing; generally 2 years minimum desired
Demonstrated project management, continuous improvement, communication, and interpersonal skills
Metal joining experience on stainless steels for high precision devices and/or pressure vessels using laser, gas tungsten (GTAW), arc, resistance upset, brazing, and/or electron beam welding (EBM)
Ability to analyze routine to moderately complex engineering designs and specifications to achieve efficient and reliable manufacturing or acceptance processes
Demonstrated ability to create and edit complex engineering and process equipment software.
Experience with fixture design, process routings, new equipment installation & startup
Experience with SPC techniques and software
Working knowledge of statistical software such as Minitab
Advanced technical degree from ABET-accredited institution
Six Sigma or Lean certification(s)
