Senior Learning Strategist
As the Sr. Learning Strategist/Content Lead, you will define and implement the creation of modern learning solutions associated with the implementation of Cerner’s electronic health records (EHR) system across the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and Department of Defense. Serving on the Federal Learning leadership team, you will oversee a team of instructional designers, subject matter experts, training domain analysts, quality management and eLearning developers. Content within the portfolio will be blended and support physical and virtual classroom delivery, eLearning, job aids, and eCoach. You will be responsible for continuing to modernize the portfolio to meet the initial and ongoing development needs associated with the EHR implementation for clinical and non-clinical users across VA and DoD facilities.
Overall responsibilities will be to develop and manage a comprehensive approach to managing instructional design and development projects across all delivery methods and modalities that considers appropriate level of effort; reasonable analysis, design and development milestones; and achievable internal and client review timelines. You will develop and manage a client-friendly cadence for communication, content, design and Section 508 reviews. Leveraging your strong interpersonal skills, you will cultivate and maintain integrated relationships with other Cerner Leads from Operations, Change Management, Delivery, and Strategy; as well as cultivate and maintain integrated relationships with Cerner’s Solution Consultants to understand workflows and roles that define learner needs and inform learning solution content. Additionally, you will identify, escalate and manage risks that emerge related to design and development activities; as well as integrate learning solution strategies and practices with change management and communications activities to provide a seamless learner/user experience during pre- and post-go-live for each federal site; and build and maintain strategic internal and external executive relationships.

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, Education, Health Care Administration, or equivalent work experience
At least 7 years of experience with Learning design or learning consultation work experience
Master’s degree in instruction design or adult learning
At least 5 years of experience managing federal government contracts and projects
At least 5 years of knowledge and experience applying instructional design and adult learning principles, theories, and practices in a client-facing setting
Strong knowledge of and experience implementing innovative, best practice, scalable, modern learning practices that make learning available at the point of need for large geographically dispersed audiences
Knowledge of Section 508 accessibility requirements and their application to learning design and development
Work in accordance with corporate and organizational security policies and procedures, understand personal role in safeguarding corporate and client assets, and take appropriate action to prevent and report any compromises of security within scope of position
Perform other responsibilities as assigned
Willing to work additional or irregular hours as needed and allowed by local regulations
Experience leading a large instructional design and development team
Ability to travel 0-20%
Must currently reside in or be willing to relocate to the Kansas City Metropolitan area or virtual in an approved location
