Reference # : 21-01376 Title : Consultant Oncology Category: Information Technology Location : Kansas City, MO Position Type : Direct Placement Experience Level : 3 Years Start Date : 06/07/2021 Description Job Description Summary The Consultant role is primarily responsible for leading ongoing research, management, reporting, production, and client inquiries . Additional key responsibilities include leadership and execution of oncology custom consulting projects and building client relationships. This position is within the Oncology and Specialty Therapeutics (OST) practice area. Will report directly to a Senior Director, and interacts with clients and consultants. This role will not be based out of a formal office (remote / home-based). EXPERTISE

  • Develops familiarity with the content of the Future Trends & Insights and Treatment Architecture modules of CMP for the four geographic regions U.S., Europe, Japan, and China

  • Understands current treatment practices for the 30+ tumor types encompassed in the product, as well as understanding how treatment may vary globally

  • Has a deep understanding of current drug development strategies in numerous oncology indications, from both a clinical and commercial perspective

  • Represents KH and CMP as an oncology subject matter expert to clients and to colleagues within KH and its sister companies

  • Continually builds on knowledge base from journal articles, conference attendance, and internal communication with colleagues

  • Gains familiarity with other modules of CMP and other KH offerings


  • Actively contributes to the publication of the Treatment Architecture module of CMP, which provides a region-specific review of the clinical management of 30+ cancers:

  • Analysis, QC and interpretation of survey data

  • Research literature and abstracts from international conferences and journals

  • Develop insights and summary significance of the changing landscape of cancer treatment

  • Actively contributes to the publication of the Future Trends and Insights module of CMP, which provides a region-specific review of current drug development strategies and competitive landscape for 26 cancers:

  • Oversee and directly contribute to:

  • Identify and research the status of ongoing clinical trials

  • Research literature and abstracts from international conferences and journals

  • Review pharmaceutical and biotech company investor presentations

  • Write comprehensive analyses of each potential development trend and impact on the future treatment landscape

  • Review and edit contributions from colleagues to ensure reports are comprehensive, accurate, and insightful from both a clinical and commercial perspective.

  • Provide support to clients who submit inquiries related to the data within Future Trends & Insights, Treatment Architecture, or other modules of CMP

  • Actively contributes to custom engagements, which may entail working independently or as part of a larger team, and which may involve a leadership role or assisting others. Types of custom engagements may include:

  • Qualitative market research: writing discussion guide, moderating interviews with physicians, analyzing results, developing a report, and synthesizing insights and recommendations for the client

  • Competitive Intelligence: organizing a team of peers to collect relevant data at conferences or from other secondary sources, discussing the clinical data and commercial relevance with clients and colleagues, writing reports to encompass the clinical efficacy and safety data and implications for the oncology market and client strategies

  • Provides input into organizing and directing efforts to maximize KH's impact at major oncology conferences (AACR, ASCO, ESMO etc.) or other scientific industry meetings

  • Actively works with Account Team to uncover potential sales and custom consulting opportunities at key pharmaceutical / biotech Clients

  • Works with Clients to leverage custom CSA work to create product sales opportunities; or use product sales opportunities to create custom CSA work

    CAPABILITIES To succeed, you will need:

  • APhD in Life Sciences, or MD, with a minimum of 3 years consulting or commercial pharmaceutical / biotech experience in the oncology field

  • Aninterest in data and insights driving drug development and commercial strategies

  • Anunderstanding of client business issues related to oncology products, and the commercialization and strategic planning process

  • To be ateam playerand demonstrate working with stakeholders at different levels

  • Strongcommunication skillsacross clients, peers, and management

  • The ability to influence, inspire and motivatethose with different expertise

  • To display a keenattention to detail, and ability toplan and organize

  • Ability totravelboth domestic and international 10-20% of the time

  • This job is expected to work according toISO 20252 standards
