Job Description:An employee in this position will be responsible for assisting in the management of, planning, coordinating and implementing special initiatives within the Bureau of Pesticide Control for the purpose of developing and maintaining a highly successful program. This position will conduct case review on all inspection and investigation reports. This position will conduct complaint driven pesticide use investigations and perform high profile investigations involving possible violations of federal pesticide statutes and regulations. This position will also be responsible for coordinating the enforcement of the Worker Protection Standards and for developing and providing training programs for Pesticide Use Investigators. General supervision is received from the program administrator. The Pesticide Initiatives Coordinator will be delegated broad responsibility for program coordination and implementation and work independently within established policies and procedures. Responsibilities will include direct or functional supervision over subordinate professional, technical and/or clerical staff involved in the implementation of the program. Minimum Qualifications:Four years of professional experience in agricultural regulatory or government service programs, agronomy, biology, crop science, entomology, environmental or ecological science, general agriculture, horticulture, or closely related areas, of which one year must have involved work in field inspection or other aspect of plant industry regulation; and graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with specialization in agronomy, biology, crop science, entomology, environmental or ecological science, general agriculture, horticulture, or a related scientific field of study.
