This technical position will be primarily responsible for carrying out various laboratory assays and laboratory maintenance.Primary responsibilities focus on Next Generation Sequencing work flow. This would include DNA extraction from biological samples, DNA Library preparation, and DNA sequencing using Next Gen Sequencing machines, together with preparing tubes, labels, and consumable materials for microbiome experiments, as well as cataloging and organizing biological samples, cleaning and sterilization of glassware, media preparation and general good lab practices. Required are adequate computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft programs, such as Microsoft Excel. Secondary responsibilities include running ELISAs, Polymerase Chain Reaction and microbial assays. Ability to apply or learn aseptic techniques in biosafety cabinets is required.Required Education/Experience:Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in the biological, microbiology or molecular sciences.Preferred Experience:1 years of relevant laboratory experience.Preference will be given to candidates with experience in DNA extraction, DNA library preparation and DNA sequencing. Immunological and microbiological analytical experience a plus.
