Summary This position falls under the Primary Care Service. Responsibilities This position serves as a Recreation Assistant working for the Whole Health Program Manager. The incumbent functions as a Yoga Instructor and may Instruct in similar modalities. Examples include qigong, mindfulness, meditation, Reiki, iRest Yoga Nidra. The incumbent has specific program responsibility in the areas of training course planning, development, modification, and delivery. Incumbent is responsible for being a part of Patient Centered Care and Whole Health programs that offer Veterans healing techniques to improve their well-being, body, mind, and spirit. Duties to include but not limited to: Develops Yoga courses and supporting materials Safely delivers Mindfulness and Yoga classes Assists with development of toolkits, videos, manuals associated with program Continually evaluates program effectiveness and adapts accordingly Documents attendance and outcomes of courses offered. Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-6 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-5. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Specialized experience includes: Ability to safely instruct individuals of varying backgrounds, physical capabilities and education levels in Yoga and Mindfulness. As well as Ability to identify physical space requirements and materials needed to effectively offer Yoga and Mindfulness classes.
