American Outdoor Brands Corporation EH & S Coordinator in Columbia, Missouri
The EHS Coordinator supports the Environmental, Health and Safety Department by supporting EHS improvement initiatives relating to environmental compliance, workplace safety, and employee health. This role will be responsible for implementing policies, programs and procedures designed to both ensure and promote employee health and safety and maintain compliance with all applicable regulations and requirements. This individual will be visible in the facility, and will assist, educate, and help leaders and employees as they promote EHS as a core value.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensures compliance with all applicable regulatory and company prescribed requirements.
Establishes the timeline, develops as needed and delivers EH&S training across the organization.
Conducts and documents risk hazard assessment across the organization.
Ensures that all training records, policies/procedures, medical records, etc. are maintained in accordance with all Company retention requirements.
Purchases and distributes personal protection equipment or other related supplies.
Ensures that medical surveillance is conducted, communicated and maintained in accordance with all Company and regulatory requirements.
Serves as the liaison for managing work related injuries and illnesses and is the point person as it relates to accident/incident investigation and site emergency preparedness and response.
Serves as the chairperson for the facility EH&S (safety committee).
Works to obtain all EH&S targets and objectives as detailed in the annual EH&S goals.
Conducts and support all other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree, 3-5 years of experience in EH&S
Experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment preferred
Possesses solid working knowledge of subject matter.
May provide leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to subordinate group

Oral and written communication skills.
Ability to build collaborative relationships.
Ability to multi-task and prioritize.
Performs work under general supervision.
Handles moderately complex issues and problems and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff.
Proficient in Microsoft Suite.
Regular and predictable attendance is required.
Some work is required in "off-hours" for business demands.
Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time in front of a computer.
Ability to move about facility on regular basis to perform physical activities, such as, but not limited to, lifting heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs. unassisted), bending, standing, climbing or walking.
Visual and hearing acuity.

Work Environment and Personal Protective Equipment:
General office environment, with some exposure to plant environment, with fork lift and other general hazards.
