What You’ll Do
Reporting to the Operations Efficiency Manager, you will be the expert in driving operations efficiency and cost reduction for CAMO site’s competitiveness through strong change leadership and application of Business Excellence tools. You will be part of a dynamic team who supports BEx initiatives and ensures participation from all areas of responsibility. Other duties will include:
Increase site productivity, partnering with site management team, by implementing standard work, line balancing, and removing bottlenecks.
Establish a baseline, develop measures/targets, and improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
Align with the Business Excellence, identify and implement framework and strategy to reduce waste and improve quality, directly impacting the site costs.
Use technical know-how for making time studies, material/man/information flows, layouts, etc. for identifying improvements. Lead and/or implement these improvements ensuring controls in place for sustaining results.
Employ a hands-on approach to data collection, analysis, recommendations of opportunities, and implementation. Apply Lean and statistical tools for data-driven decisions.
Introduce innovative ideas and technologies and be a change agent to effectively implement and sustain.
Ensure and/or support compliance with applicable Company HSE Performance Standards, as well as applicable acts and regulations; Support compliance with ISO 9001-2008.
What We’re Looking For:
BS Degree or higher in Industrial Engineering or related field, or have a comparative level of experience
Six Sigma Black Belt preferred.
5 – 10 years of experience from manufacturing operations, possibly chemical manufacturing.
Experience driving Lean Sigma projects for a minimum of 3 years and fluent at training others with these tools
Computer literacy in MS Windows. Experience with SAP and Minitab, plus.
SAP capability or knowledge desired but not required.
Must satisfy the requirements for a "Responsible Person" as defined by the Bureau of Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives.
Strong Problem-Solving skills
Ability to independently identify process problems/opportunities, identifies the root cause, and implements solutions.
Proven ability to lead LEAN manufacturing within an operation using various metrics and tools
Ability to inspire and engage employees with respect to continuous improvement and process changes.
