Golder is seeking an Environmental Engineer to join our St. Louis, Missouri office. In this role you will have the opportunity to work as part of a regional team on challenging environmental site investigation and characterization projects. The work entails a variety of office-related and field activities to complete approved scopes of work, document activities, solve problems that arise, and proactively communicate with project managers.
Responsibilities of the role will include:
Perform a variety of field and office related tasks including:
Subsurface investigation including drilling, geologic/geotechnical logging and environmental media sampling
Phase 1 and Phase 2 contaminated site investigations
Hydrogeology, landfill design, and remediation
Data interpretation and evaluation
Prepare geologic and geotechnical boring logs, geologic cross-sections, groundwater contour maps, and isoconcentration maps
Perform engineering calculations, cost estimates, data validation, and report preparation
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Geological Engineering, or a similar engineering discipline
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to plan and execute field programs with knowledge of proper sampling techniques
Ability to collect field data and oversee subcontractors, which may require the ability to lift and carry heavy equipment (up to 50 pounds)
Ability to work on extended assignments away from the home office location
Preferred:
Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Geological Engineering, or a similar engineering discipline
EIT certification
Environmental consulting industry experience
Experience with software such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, AutoCAD, GIS, gINT
Completed 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER health and safety training (preferred), with 8-hour refresher updates as applicable
